Activity and Cultural Center
At Hope Landing, we believe people can still enjoy stimulating physical and mental activities, even if you’ve slowed down a bit. Every day, our activity and cultural center will have two to three activities, from cards and games, to lectures and concerts. There will also be a daily discussion group and talk about current events and other interesting items. Nightly, there may be a special event, or you’ll be able to grab some popcorn and watch one of your favorite movies. When you first come to Hope Landing, we’ll sit down with you over a cup of coffee and find out what you like to do. We’ll do our best to help you maintain your desired routine and activities—even if it requires some extra accommodation. We can help make it possible for you to read books with big print, listen to music with special headphones, and watch events on a big screen. Assistance is available for gardening, writing letters, walking and other activities. We will encourage you to keep dreaming, and offer you the opportunity to try new things.

Happy Hour
On selected evenings throughout the month, we will have the Hope Landing Happy
Hour, with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, music and guests. It will be a great time to get to know your neighbors better, have friends and family over, and simply enjoy yourself.
Hope Landing Partner, Dean Solden is also a professional jazz pianist. He’ll be tickling the ivories throughout each month.

Discussion Groups
We believe that people should never stop thinking, talking and interacting. Discussion groups with residents and outside guests have been found effective in maintaining brain function and sharing insights with others. During our daily discussion group, we’ll reminisce about the past, talk about current events, and think about the future.

Intergenerational Relationships
It is popular in senior communities to promote intergenerational relationships. This usually means that small children or infants are brought in to interact with residents. While this can be stimulating, at Hope Landing we take intergenerational relationships to a new level. We believe it is best for people to interact with ALL ages, not just infants or toddlers. We will have students of all ages coming into Hope Landing: middle school, high school and college students. We will also have adults of all ages interacting with residents. Young and old alike will form friendships at Hope Landing. We will be interacting with all sorts of people throughout Charlotte, both inside and outside our building.
